Torre del Lago

Picture
Torre del Lago is a small village between Lucca and Viareggio, which owes its fame to the great composer Giacomo Puccini, who built a beautiful villa along the shores of the Massaciuccoli lake. The streets around the villa were named after his most famous operas.
Lago Massaciuccoli, an important nature preserve for rare and migrant birds, provides a pretty backdrop for open-air performances of Puccini's work.

PALIO DI SIENA

The Palio horse race takes place twice a year, one the 2nd of July (Palio of Provenzano, in honor of the Madonna of Provenzano) and on August 16th (Palio of the Assumption, in honor of the Virgin Mary's Assumption).

Montecatini Terme

Picture
Montecatini Terme, with its world- famous thermal baths, large parks and gorgeous gardens has been a busy health spa for centuries.  High above, connected by a funicular railway that was built in 1897, is Montecatini Alto, a fortified medieval town commanding spectacular views of the Tuscan  countryside which is dotted with many villages and towns, and divided by well-tended farms, vineyards and olive orchards.

These "Montecantinis" sit in the broadValdinievole on the A11 highway in  Pistoia Province between Lucca to the west andPrato and Florence to the east.  They should not be confused with Montecatini Val di Cecina, which is 100 kilometres south in Pisa  Province.

FOR CHILDREN:

Water Park Village - Cecina

ACQUA VILLAGE is a real and proper fun park and much more than only a water park.

ACQUAVILLAGE is a great meeting point, not only by day, but also by night, thanks to the renowned Disco Village (that can hold 4,000 persons) and the night club Baluba, both counting to the most important night destinations of the Tyrrhenian coast.
The parks offer green and woody areas, sun terraces equipped with sun beds and beach umbrellas, eight bars, two restaurants, two pizzerias, two fast foods, two ice-cream parlours and the brand-new fresh water vaporizers.
These are the facilities, slides & co. of the two Acqua Villages: four Anaconda, four Kamikaze, eight Surfing Hills, two Twisters, two Wave Pools, two Lagoons for children, one Paradise Island dedicated to relaxation and equipped with hydromassage tub, one Magic Lagoon with hydromassage tub and two Acqua Runs, the Fun Island, a brand-new swimming pool that covers over 600 sq.m. in a tropical atmosphere. It is an amusement island for kids and adults with interactive water games, slides for children and a nice gigantic water melon that is pouring water over the heads of the most curious persons.
Finally, waterfalls, hydromassages and water bubbles of several sizes. Great news for the water park in Cecina: the brand-new Super Slide with rubber boats for a breathtaking run, allone or with the family! A great surprise! And still: 12 trampolines, two beach volley fields, the brand-new “Beach Arena” with real sea sand and dedicated to each kind of beach sports such as beach soccer, beach tennis and beach volley, one football field, two “Human Table Soccers”, two soap soccer fields, two amusement arcades, two miniclubs for kids that are equipped with swings and bouncy slides.
